Catching Up Again

I don't know that I will post all my workouts I've done since I last posted. It would be the never-ending page. I will catch you up on what I've been doing though.

I bought a Jawbone UP wristband last week. I had a birthday gift card I used to cover half of it. I love it. I've been wearing it for more than a week now and it tracks your steps, your activity time, sleep (heavy and light sleep), how many times you get up at night, and calories burned through activity and more. While that is a number I take with a grain of salt (I track my activities through Lose It), it's a really handy gadget. I did not realize how LITTLE I was moving (aside from my workouts). I used to make sure I got at least 10,000 steps in a day and then I stopped when my old pedometer quit on me. That was before I had my daughter (she is six now). So now, I'm moving. I'm making sure I move as much as possible and stop sitting so much. It's quite a jolt when you realize you are only getting about 2000 steps in a day most days. Yikes.

On the kettlebell front, I've been doing high rep swings with the 16, 18 and 24kg bells. Snatches have been fun when it comes to the 12kg RKC bell and even the 16kg RKC bell. Competition bell - not so much. My left arm is given me issues - as in pain and the feeling like the bone is going to snap. I don't have the problem with the RKC bells at all. Not sure what is going on but I'm not eager to push it with the left arm and the comp bell right now. I've been laying off it a little to strengthen it with the other bells and with the hand grips. I keep thinking it has to be form but when I snatch with the 8kg comp bell - there is no problem.

So we'll see.

It's hard for me to take rest days. I feel guilty for taking them although I know they are crucial. So I make sure I walk for 30-50 minutes on those days. It feels good to move and it doesn't hurt that the weather is finally nice enough to get outside and do stuff. My other workouts as of late have included raking the lawn. It's nice to see the grass greening up.

That's it for now. I know it is a boring post. I haven't been in much of a mood to blog as of late - on either blog of mine. I am really thinking of taking a break from social media as I usually do in the summer months. We'll see. Have a great weekend!

  1. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment!

I would say that it takes courage to take some R & R in the face of feeling guilty about it, so I hope you manage to take some breaks in the days ahead - it really is good for your brain as well as your body =-)
