Hello there! Welcome to my new blog. I have another one I use for my writings and general but this one will be where I post my kettlebell training, weightloss goals, recipes and healthy eating.
I see this as my scratchpad of sorts, where I can jot down what I'm doing and how I'm doing it - what works and what isn't working.
Life is a journey and some days we hit the nail on the head while other days, we may miss by a long shot. And that's okay -- as long as we keep moving forward. Just as the quote I have at the top of the blog says: "It ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!" ~Rocky Balboa.
The Rocky movies (except for number five - which we pretend never happened) are my all-time favorite movies. Rocky was the first movie I saw in a theatre. I was four years old when it came out but I remember everything about it. It never fails to encourage me in a multitude of ways.
So now on to goals. I am going to lose 40 pounds. I train with kettlebells but I need to be more consistent with my training and my eating. If you asked me the one thing that tends to stand in my way, I would say consistency or lack thereof.
The wise and fantastic Tracy Reifkind told me to catch those words before I say them or even think them and rather, reverse it. Instead say, "There is nothing standing in my way."
There is nothing standing in my way.
The time is now. Let's do it!
Today:
snatches: 8kg - 10 minutes of snatch intervals
swings: 16kg - 21 x 10 = 210 swings
*almost forgot!
walking - 30 minutes this morning
Love it!
ReplyDeleteRocky movies are the greatest! My personal favorite is #4! Love the part where he's in Russia working out "old school style" in the harsh winter weather! Right up my alley!
Mine too! The training montage is awesome and always pumps me up! Love it! The soundtrack rocks too.
ReplyDeleteYou have weightless goals! How wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWhy Kettleballs? Will you tell that story? I am a miserable wreck when it comes to working out and I need to lose at least 25 lbs. I'd love to hear your story.
Ha! Thanks Elizabeth. Dang spell correct. I've been training with kettlebells for four years. Over on InkyTwig I said three but it is actually four. I love it. It is cardio and weight all in one and it targets everything. I talk more at length about how I got started over at inkytwig.com . Kettlebells burn a LOT of calories in a short amount of time. It is low impact and it is fun! I'm talking Russian kettlebells - not the Jillian Michaels crap that's out there. :) Thanks for stopping by! :) I can always email you more about kettlebells.
ReplyDeleteIt's BELLS not balls!!!
ReplyDeleteUgh!
I didn't even see that - same way I did not see I had weightless instead of weightloss. Damn auto correct. A lot of people seem to call it kettle balls, I'm not sure why.
