"It ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!" ~Rocky Balboa

Swinging Saturday

Today I woke up with a headache. Not a great way to begin the day. It lasted far into the afternoon but after I had a snack a little bit prior to my workout, it went away.

I did a really short snatch set as you can see. I really dislike the handle on my 8kg (18lb) kettlebell. It is more triangular in shape rather than the usual rounded handle you see on most kettlebells, so it is not quite as comfortable. I think I am going to buy another 8kg with a rounded handle. I can snatch with the 12kg but I need to work on my form a bit more. :)

I had fun with my swing workout though!

I'm curious about Indian Clubs in terms of helping with shoulder mobility and plan to order a pair soon. I think they would be a nice addition to my workouts.

Friday's workout:
40 minutes walking on the treadmill for 2.26 miles.

Today's workout:
1000 swings total
70 snatches
*Equal work to equal rest: 30 seconds of swings/30 seconds rest

12kg - two-handed swings: 10setsx20reps = 200

rest (about a minute and a half each time)

16kg - two-handed swings: 5setsx20reps = 100

rest

12kg - one-handed swings: 10setsx20reps (10R/10L) = 200 (100L/100/R)

rest

16kg - two-handed swings: 5setsx20reps = 100
12kg - two-handed swings: 5setsx20reps = 100

rest

12kg - two-handed swings: 15setsx20reps=300
                                         5R/5L/5R/5L
rest

8kg - snatch: 5setsx14reps(7R/7L) = 70

Have a fantastic weekend!
