"Floyd" - my new 8kg competition bell
So I ordered a ligher competition bell in order to work on my technique. I'll be snatching the 12kg and eventually the 16kg but first I need to work on grip, insertion - all that jazz. Much easier with a lighter bell as I found out today.
I just finished an hour long workout with the new bell. It was so nice because I was able to focus on things I needed to do rather than worry about the weight and my wrists which I do need to strengthen.
My callus is much better. I've been applying good old Bag Balm, lavender oil and thyme oil to it several times a day and it is almost all healed. I did wrap it with tape and then made some Tracy Reifkind Sock Sleeves. Incredibly helpful. AND because I was working on proper grip and technique, it really took the load off the pad of the hand. Big BIG difference. STILL, I have MUCH work today. MUCH work. It's unbelievable how quickly that hour flies by. It didn't seem that long.
So all total - today's workout:
Swing warmup with 8kg and 12kg comp bells. *I used only the comp bells today
8kg - 4 sets of 10 swings each arm (10R 10L) - 80 swings
12kg - 1 set 10R 10L = 20 swings
12kg - 100 swings non stop switching every 10 reps
Snatches 8kg
5R/5L = 10
5R/5L = 10
1 swing/1 snatch x 5 (both sides) = 10 swings/10 snatch
1 swing/1 snatch x 10 = 20 swings/20 snatch
1 swing/1 snatch x 10 = 20 swings/20 snatch
1 swing/1 snatch x 10 = 20 swings/20 snatch
1 swing/1 snatch x 10 = 20 swings/20 snatch
1 swing/1 snatch x 10 = 20 swings/20 snatch
1 swing/1 snatch x 10 = 20 swings/20 snatch
1 swing/1 snatch x 10 = 20 swings/20 snatch
10 snatches R/10 snatches L = 20 snatches
10 snatches R/10 snatches L = 20 snatches
5 minute snatch set switching hands every 10 snatches no rest
20 reps per minute = 100 snatches
12kg comp bell
5R/5L = 10 snatches
350 swings total
320 snatches total
Hopefully my math is correct!
Have a great weekend!

Nice job!
