It's funny how one can be frustrated and yet see improvement at the same time. Sunday, I planned to video my snatches with the 12kg comp bell but about 40 reps in, something clicked in my left elbow and there was a slight bit of pain. So I stopped. My lockouts felt sloppy and weak. I've been working on wrist and grip strength using hand grippers. In fact I just ordered a pair of Captains of Crush Grippers. I got the 100 lb. Trainers. Funny thing is I'm snatching with heavier bells (RKC bells) and not having any issues. No pain in the left arm when snatching with them.
I probably should have rested but I did a workout anyway - with my RKC bells.
Tuesday's workout was one of those where I just wasn't "feeling" it but I did it anyway. I felt puny. I probably didn't eat enough carbs - I definitely could feel THAT on Wednesday. I know the feeling all too well. Not fun. But I got through my workout and with the 14kg RKC bell at that.

Tuesday Snatch Workout
12kg RKC Bell and 14kg
Swings 12kg
10 rounds/20 reps each = 200 swings

I tried to do a five minute continuous snatch set with the comp bell but once again, my left arm started giving me problems in the form of pain from the elbow to the armpit. I switched to the RKC bell 12kg. I hit 4:34 and hit a wall. I did 90 snatches before setting it down. NOT happy. So I decided to do 5x5 snatch sets with the 12kg and then the 14kg.
5R/5L - 12kg
5R/5L - 12kg
5R/5L - 14kg for the rest of the sets

---------------
200 snatches
200 swings
I will say I am super happy about using the 14kg for snatches. I am getting stronger. The 14kg felt light. See what I mean by frustration and improvement? Frustrated I am about the 12kg comp bell and happy I am about the improvement - or rather my ability to snatch the 14kg and the 16kg. I just wish I understood what I'm doing wrong with the comp bell. It has to be form. I am more worried about hurting my arm and not being able to snatch at all. That would really be bad. I'll have to try to video it and see what's going on there.
My eating has been really clean. Today I did eat a bit more carbs to see if I feel better - which I do.
I need to stop caring so dang much about the number on the scale and focus on strength and health but it's easier said than done. That number DOES matter to me. At the end of the day, it just does.
