Sunshine & Kettlebells

16kg Kettlebell Outside

What a gorgeous day. I hear it got up to 57 degrees! It felt like it! While we were waiting for my daughter's school bus to arrive, I started my swing workout with the 16kg outside. Perfect day for it.

About an hour (1000 swings) later, I was done. Most of my swings were all one handed swings. I'm trying to strengthen my arms for snatching so I'll be focusing more on one handed swings which is fine with me because I enjoy them more anyway! I did 15 seconds work to 15 seconds rest most of the time. A few sets were straight swinging no rest. The very last set was 10 sets of 30 seconds work to 30 seconds rest.

I did have another first today. I snatched the 16kg for the first time! It wasn't pretty, but it was a snatch! I am getting stronger - bit by bit.

I'm going to purchase a wall clock to hang out in the garage for when I do my workouts outside. It will be much easier to time with that in addition to my Gymboss.

Anyway, it was a good day. It's nice to be outside and be able to enjoy the sun without freezing my butt off. I'm sad to see the snow melting. I did not get to do all the things I would have liked this Winter but there will be more winters and more snow. Everything in due time. Right now the biggest thing I am really and truly looking forward to is being able to sit out on my deck in the mornings with my cup of coffee and a book of poetry. I do miss that.

I'm not going to break down my workout. It's getting too lengthy to type all that and I switch up my reps quite a bit.

To summarize:

1000 swings with the 16kg.
Most of them were 1 handed swings.
Most of the sets were 15/15 (15 seconds work/15 seconds rest)

Hope you are having a splendid week!
